Our story

A father’s poems.
A son’s care.

Giving Singhasan a home where another generation can read, listen and return.

The book at the heart of it.

Singhasan is Pravakar Satapathy’s first book of Odia poems, written during his involvement in politics. Across sixty-eight poems, he draws connections between power and ordinary life, mythology and the world around him.

This online edition grew from his son Ahimanikya’s wish to bring those poems to more readers. The original Odia remains at its centre. Illustrations, a quiet reading option and translations offer different ways to spend time with the same book.

Meet the poet

Across languages

Let the feeling travel.

A poem carries more than the literal meaning of its words. Its humour, cultural associations, rhythm and emotional turns matter too. Our translation work follows that thought: help a reader in another language feel what the poem is doing, while staying close to its Odia source.
